The Kids' Hospital Network is seeking area businesses to continue their fundraiser sponsored by radio station WOMR 92.1 FM The on air fundraiser took place on Thursday, April 19, 2001 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm EST with host Bob Seay. The Kids' Hospital Network was started by Alexis Brown, after she spent the summer of 1993 at the New England Medical Center's Floating Hospital for Children in Boston, due to complications of lupus. While at the hospital Alexis saw the need for children to have an outlet and a connection to the outside world. When she came home from the hospital she created a newsletter called "Bearable Times" which made it's debut in 1994 and the following year on the Internet. She received assistance for ideas from her siblings Victoria and Isaiah and her friends and family. Since the start of "Bearable Times" The Kids' Hospital Network has been working to provide programs and projects for kids and teens both locally and on the Internet. Your generous donation will assist TKHN to continue helping children and their families. |
